Scale up seed multiplication, dissemination, varietal tracking, adoption, and impact assessment

Map the frequency, spatial coverage, and severity of abiotic stresses in rice-growing environments. Develop and implement an integrated participatory varietal selection (PVS) and variety release testing protocol to shorten the time it takes to develop and release improved varieties that is inclusive of women farmers, processors, and consumers. Evaluate alternative options for improving farmer access to quality seed through training of seed producers and farmers, both men and women. Multiply and
rapidly disseminate seeds through the network of partners. Track varietal uptake and assess adoption patterns, and examine gender-differentiated constraints to adoption and the impact of stress-tolerant rice varieties on women’s labor and farmers’ livelihood. Promote supportive policies for varietal evaluation, release, promotion, and dissemination.
